Weekend’s almost here, and so are Continental.com’s specials

Travelers in search of great deals have come to search for a type of deep discount airfare served up on weekends. Continental Airlines is one of the prime practitioners, offering round-trip passage for as low as $99.

Book and buy by 11:59pm on Friday (March 2). Then, travel outbound on Saturday, March 3, and return either Monday or Tuesday (March 5 or 6).

The discount airfares we’re about to quote are available via Continental.com only. That’s one of the reasons why the carrier can offer such great rates. The more reservations it can drive to its Web site, the lower its costs.

Seats are limited on these deals, and tickets are neither refundable nor changeable. Neither taxes nor fees are included.

That said, here’s a representative sampling of the savings Continental has conjured up:

- Albuquerque (ABQ) to Bush Houston Intercontinental (IAH) $119
- Anchorage (ANC) to Seattle/Tacoma (SEA) $198
- Ashville, NC (AVL) to New York/Newark (EWR) $119
